Chris Ashton coordinates event execution for the Austin Forum on Technology & Society, supporting venue operations, technical staging, and logistics for monthly programming.
Professionally, Chris is a Senior Software Engineer at NVIDIA on the CUDA Profiling Tools Interface (CUPTI) team. In addition to customer-facing tools engineering, he leads development efforts focused on confidential computing across accelerated environments.
Chris brings nearly two decades of systems software, computer architecture, and high-performance computing (HPC) research experience. Prior to NVIDIA, he spent more than thirteen years at Cray and Hewlett Packard Enterprise within their HPC research and simulation divisions. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Outside of systems architecture and the Austin Forum, Chris is an active organizer in the local community, founding and running an Austin grass volleyball group of more than 500 members since 2021 and leading the social committee for the Spring Condos. In his downtime, he focuses on travel and landscape photography and outdoor hiking.
